They Can't Bury Our Voices
AS AN active PCS representative within the Land Registry I'm personally
disgusted with the way this Labour government has treated my colleagues across
the civil service.
Emily Kelly, Lancashire Land Registry PCS Rep.
Their plan to slash civil service jobs and their use of the media to paint
us as faceless bureaucrats is both a disservice to our diverse, hard-working,
over-stretched members and a pathetic attempt to sway an electorate .
5 November will be a successful day of protest, starting as early as 12am
for some of our members in the Registry's Information Systems department in
Plymouth. It will send a strong message to this Labour government that we will
not be the victims of party politics.
The media may well bury the stories around the country on the day of the
strike, but they will not bury the voices of those of us who will continue to
campaign against the cuts to pay, pensions and sickness benefit.
